Trade Fairs: A Key Platform for Driving Enterprise Internationalization and Connecting Global Resources

As a key player in the Huangshan Sub-zone of the Anhui Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ), Shexian County has remained committed to a high level of openness and strongly supports local companies in participating in Anhui Province’s “Hui Dong Global” (Anhui Goes Global) initiative. By “going global through exhibitions,” market demand has proven even stronger than expected.

Located in the Shexian Economic Development Zone, HUANGSHAN MALE LOCOMOTIVE PARTS CO.,LTD. is one of the few domestic manufacturers that integrates aluminum alloy material R&D, casting process design, mold development and manufacturing, product casting, and precision machining for automotive engine components.

Since 2016, Huangshan Male has been exploring international markets. But in the early days of overseas exhibitions, the company’s sales team found it difficult to decide which countries to target, and self-registration meant that their exhibition booths were scattered and lacked synergy.

To accelerate the cultivation of new drivers for foreign trade, Anhui Province releases a recommended directory of major domestic and international trade fairs every year. The Shexian Science, Technology and Commerce Bureau, together with the Development Zone Administrative Committee, promptly shares this information with local foreign-trade enterprises, providing a strong support system for companies going abroad.

“Shexian authorities use big-data analysis to identify key countries and regions for us, helping us build client relationships and making our expansion into international markets twice as effective,” said Tu Citian, Sales Director of Huangshan Male locomotive parts, in an interview.

At internationally renowned, highly specialized trade fairs, Anhui exhibitors present under a unified banner—“Hui Dong Global—Going Abroad Initiative.” Concentrated in the same exhibition area, they more easily win the trust of potential clients. With high-quality export orders in hand, Huangshan Male’s production momentum continues to grow. Inside the factory, machining centers run intelligently: through press-fitting, automated ultrasonic cleaning and trimming, the company produces aluminum-alloy cylinder heads for automobile engines that are shipped to more than 20 countries worldwide.

“In the first half of 2025 alone, we took part in eight ‘Hui Dong Global’ exhibitions and gained an additional US$1 million in orders. In the second half of the year, we plan to attend exhibitions in France, Dubai, Egypt and Uzbekistan, aiming for a 10%–20% year-on-year increase in total export value,” Tu added.

In recent years, the Shexian Economic Development Zone has continued to play its leading role in the Huangshan Sub-zone of the Anhui Pilot FTZ. Guided by national strategies, it has pursued high-level and institutional openness and actively driven iterative upgrades of the sub-zone. Its “One-Stop Full-Cycle Legal Services Center for the Park” has been released as a provincial innovation achievement, while its new model for building a credit system was successfully included in the “2024 Anhui FTZ Innovation Cases,” offering the “Huangshan Experience” for collaborative innovation.

“To accelerate construction of the Huangshan Sub-zone, we have widely promoted and mobilized enterprises to participate in the ‘Hui Dong Global’ initiative, helping them expand markets and secure orders,” said Yu Ping, Director of the Economic Development Department of the Shexian Economic Development Zone Administrative Committee. “In the first half of 2025, the zone organized and mobilized 43 companies to participate in overseas exhibitions, collected 164 enterprise requests and achieved a 100% completion and satisfaction rate. The zone’s total import-export volume grew by about 6.3% year-on-year.”
