Product Information Cylinder Head

The Mazda WE and WLAT engines are part of the WL diesel engine family, designed for 2.5L turbocharged diesel vehicles. These engines use a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) 8-valve cylinder head, cast from durable aluminum alloy for improved cooling and heat resistance.

The WE and WLAT cylinder heads are typically found in Mazda B2500, Ford Ranger, BT-50, and various commercial vehicles. These heads are reinforced to handle high combustion pressure from turbocharging and heavy-duty operation.

Installation Guidelines

  1. Surface Check:
Resurface if warpage exceeds 0.05 mm. Pressure test before installation.
  2. Gasket Type:
Use a new multi-layer steel (MLS) gasket suitable for turbo diesel heads.
  3. Torque Procedure (approximate):
    • Step 1: Tighten all bolts to 30 Nm
    • Step 2: Add 90° turn
    • Step 3: Add another 90° turn
Use new TTY bolts and follow correct sequence.
  4. Component Replacement:
Replace water pump, timing belt, and tensioners. Clean oil and coolant passages. Check valve clearances post-installation.
